Take Winter Head On
Winter brings ice and snow, colds and flu's, and its own unique set of challenges. Face winter head on this year with a few important tips.

Slip and Trip Prevention -Conditions become treacherous both outside and indoors during a snow storm. Ice in the parking lot can cause falls, and snowy wet floors make for serious slip hazards. Be sure to use ice melt throughout the storm, and more importantly, clear any slush on your walking surfaces as quickly as possible. -Itâs also important to have a good matting program in place during the winter months. Mats will protect your floors and help reduce the amount of snow and ice tracked onto surfaces causing a slip hazard. Donât forget to put out wet floor signs to remind people to take extra precautions on snowy days.
Illness Prevention - Cleaning for health is important in the winter months when germs seem to spread like wildfire. Hand hygiene is one of the most vital parts of illness prevention. Be sure to keep soap dispensers filled and have hand sanitizer available in areas without a water source. Beyond hand hygiene, how you clean your facility can help prevent the spread of disease as well. Daily sanitizing of high-touch areas such as handrails, door knobs and desk chairs can help as well as using HEPA filters in vacuums. Remember, if you take special precautions to prevent illness, chances are others will follow your lead.
